Decorating for Christmas this year!

Well, since I had a complete room with nothing in it, I decided to put a Christmas tree up this year.  This is the first time in over 12 years that I’ve had a tree up.  My friend Trish did most of the decorating, as I have NO eye for how this thing should look.  Looks like it turned out pretty good.  I also took a couple of pictures of a little quilt that my mom did for the house.

What a difference 24 hours makes…

Live a little, learn a little…

Yesterday, I posted a very rough recording.  All I had done was recorded a bit, and threw the thing up to listen to.  Well, I made some changes…  And, I found out that there were great presets for the master track!  So, the EQ got twiddled, the levels changed around, and some actual THOUGHT went into this one.

Take a listen.

All comments welcome!

I didn’t realize yesterday was my 3 year blog anniversary!

Wow, where has the time gone?  It was sort of fitting to finally publish a bit of music on my blog after 3 years on this blog’s anniversary.  I find it interesting to go back an read old posts, as I really get a feel for what was going on at those times in my life.

My blogging has slowed down, as I am writing a LOT more for my job (not sure if that’s a good thing or not).  I am studying to take my second exam for the MCTS, and I’ve been actually playing my guitar(s) instead of just talking/writing about them.  I’ll try to be a little better, November just had too many things going on.

Starting to learn my way around recording with Garageband

Well, it’s time to put up or shut up.  I’ve been talking a LOT about computer recording, but I have nothing that actually proves I know a darned thing about it.  Well, my previous post has a link to some of the music I practice.  The song was just the computer doing the bass and drums, and me playing guitar.  I’m working on getting the volume up a bit, without trashing the quality of the audio.

Comments are certainly welcome, and yes, I do know it’s too quiet.

Thanks for listening folks!

The fruits of all the music talk

Ok, so after ALL the freakin’ blog posts about Garageband, audio interfaces, MIDI files, transcriptions, and everything else guitar related, I FINALLY have music!Open-mouthed
