TV Show Review: Love Monkey

I’m not, by nature, a TV person.  I like the new BattleStar Galactica and Firefly (please, please, please keep that series going!) and live sports, but that’s about it.  Unfortunately, there may be a new show for me to get hooked on.  Love Monkey.  The premise is interesting, if highly unlikey, an honest A/R rep for a record company and his rather odd love life.  (Not *that* odd, he is straight)  What’s interesting is that it was fairly easy to identify with the guy, Tom.  In the first episode, the guy looses his job and his girl, all in one day.  The interesting part about it is that he has a ‘best girl friend’.  She hits him with some real interesting truths about his life, which *really* hit home with me.  It doesn’t hurt that she sounds exactly like a person I know…

All in all, the show started off interesting… Hopefully it will be available for purchase or reruns…

Ok, I’m impressed (iPod content)

I’ve scoffed at the new iPod videos, just because it doesn’t seem very practical and because it doesn’t play subsciption music.  Well, scratch *one* argument I have.  One of the guys that I work with brought in a brand new iPod video, with a video running on it… GREAT GOOGLEY-MOOGLEY!!!  Crystal clear video, and the screen is big enough to actually watch a movie, video or TV show…  Now, all Apple has to do is put a DVD ripper into iTunes (and maybe rename it to iEntertainment)…

A ‘Bewitch’ing movie

Just got back from seeing ‘Bewitched’.  I’ll cut to the chase.  I liked it.  The movie was funny, it had some good interaction, and would have been even better if I had had a date.  Of course the joke I’ll remember will only be funny to people from one city in the country.  The movie give hope to us sad, goofy guys that we might actually find someone who likes us for BEING a sad, goofy guy (sorta like Hitch).

Hitchin’ a ride

I saw an AWESOME movie tonight, Hitch.  Wow, I don’t remember when I’ve laughed harder.  Maybe it was funny because I have lived through most of those moments in real life.  Sort of like Spinal Tap.  Any musician will tell you Spinal Tap is the world’s greatest movie.  The humor is funny because we can relate to the people.  Hitch hits you like that.  Almost the entire movie made me uncomfortable, because it’s WAY too close to home.
